COMMUNITY HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (Current workforce)

REINFORCING THE LEWISHAM COMMUNITY NHS WORKFORCE, TO SUPPORT IT TO CONTINUE DELIVERING THE BEST CARE IN EVERY NHS DIRECTION.

Supporting the development of all non-acute NHS organisations

Lewisham CEPN aims to support and develop initiatives for all parts of the primary and community workforce. Please see below for details of current and planned schemes.

Current initiatives

The main initiative underway at the moment for community healthcare professionals is the apprenticeship programme, which is being developed to support the workforce of the future. Please see the Future Workforce/Apprenticeships or Future Workforce/Community Health Professionals pages of this website for more details.

Also being worked up is a joint practice nurse/community nurse Winter Pressures event, in order to address early identification and optimal coordination of respiratory issues, dehydration and UTIs, isolation etc. in our most vulnerable patients. Details of this event, which is planned for October, will be posted in due course.

Details of other initiatives to support the current workforce will be posted here as they arise. Keep looking, and please let us know what kind of training initiatives you would like to see available: mail@lewishamcepn.community

Have your say

Are you a community NHS organisation e.g. dental, optical or pharmaceutical practice? You will undoubtedly be well supported by your local Committee. What training would you like that is not currently being offered? Please respond to mail@lewishamcepn.community.

Are you another type of small NHS organisation in the community? What training would you like? What are the barriers to acquiring the training you need.  Please respond to mail@lewishamcepn.community.
