Developing our non-clinical workforce
Lewisham CEPN develops initiatives to maximise the individual potential of non-clinical staff in Lewisham GP practices and community NHS organisations. Lewisham has a workforce that is already delivering a high quality service to patients, under extremely difficult conditions. We aim to support practices to furnish their reception, admin and managerial staff with enhanced skills in order to further improve this service to patients, and to help them to feel confident during this transformative period of primary healthcare delivery.
TRAINING COMING UP
Introduction to Management Skills: Improving processes, engaging colleagues, optimizing patient service, leadership skills (training for non-clinical staff – underway, with 20 delegates)
Communicating with Confidence : Exploring how to communicate to deliver the best service to patients (training for reception staff on Thursday 11th May – spaces available)
Are You Listening To Me? : Mental health awareness, and the communication skills needed to support patients compassionately and effectively (training for non-clinical staff and HCAs from May to October – spaces available)
How Do I Know You Care? : Dementia awareness, and the communication skills needed to support patients compassionately and effectively (training for non-clinical staff and HCAs in Autumn 2017 – exact dates to be confirmed before spaces available)
